It remains one of the most famous clubs in Northern England. It carried forward the legacy created by clubs such as the Twisted Wheel in Manchester, the Chateau Impney ( Droitwich), the Catacombs ( Wolverhampton) and the Golden Torch ( Tunstall, Stoke-on-Trent).
